Union AG, the world’s oldest embroidery company, was founded in 1759 as a dealer in fine linen fabrics. Since 1854, the company has been producing and creating high quality mechanically-produced embroidery. The slogan “in union with fashion” gave the company its name: Union.
In 1992, Union was the first European embroidery company to found a vertically organised production unit in Qingdao, China. Today, Union produces over 90% of its high quality embroidery there, whereas its headquarters, as well as its creative team, remain in St.Gallen (Switzerland), the home of machine made embroidery.
Today, Union AG is one of the worldwide leading producers of fashionable embroidery dedicated to the lingerie and corsetry industry and counts over 220 employees. The fashionable Union collection is created continuously by an in-house design team. Union designs are sold exclusively to each customer, the world’s leading apparel makers.
Union’s range consists of fashionable high quality guipure and embroidery as well as soutache and heat- or laser cut fabrics. Its main customers are: Triumph, Groupe Chantelle, Marks & Spencer, Wacoal, Van de Velde, Lise Charmel, Felina and Aimer. The “made by Union” label guaranties the highest quality and is recognized around the world.
